We assume a 91-day quarter and that your quarter-to-date average continues unless you change the roster. The required daily average for the rest of the quarter is (215 × 91 minus your average × days elapsed) divided by days remaining. The point of no return is the day that required average exceeds the most you can realistically deliver; past it, the quarter cannot mathematically recover. Targets: 215 total and 44 RN minutes per resident per day (Aged Care Rules 2025, s.176-20, AN-ACC casemix-adjusted per home). Funding at stake uses the supplement figure you entered; metro homes repay the supplement for missed quarters from 1 April 2026. Staffing is also a Star Ratings input, so a missed quarter can show publicly on My Aged Care.

Claim age is counted from the service delivery date, not the invoice date. Your oldest unlodged claim expires 90 days after delivery once the 90-day lodgement limit starts on 1 December 2026. Your process margin is 90 minus (typical lodgement age plus one batch cycle): the buffer between how you claim today and the wall. If that margin is under 14 days, a single NDIA substantiation request (14 days to respond, or the claim is not paid) can push a normal claim over the edge. Rules: NDIS reforms legislated 2026; substantiation applies to any claim.

Last safe lodgement is the expiry date minus your authoriser's turnaround. Margin is how many days you have left before that date. Amber under 14 days, red when the last safe day has passed.
