Where you land if nothing changes.

Most reports show where you stand today. This one projects forward: the day your care minutes quarter becomes unrecoverable, the claims that hit the NDIS 90-day wall, and your last safe restrictive practice lodgement dates. Your numbers stay in your browser; nothing is stored.

Care minutes · Aged care

The point of no return

Every home must deliver an average 215 care minutes per resident per day, 44 from a registered nurse, with each home's exact target set by its funding mix. Miss the quarter and the care minutes supplement is at risk; since April 2026 metro homes lose part of it. There is a day in every under-target quarter after which no realistic roster can save the average. This finds yours.

Care minutes · point of no return

How we worked this out
We assume a 91-day quarter and that your quarter-to-date average continues unless you change the roster. The required daily average for the rest of the quarter is (215 × 91 minus your average × days elapsed) divided by days remaining. The point of no return is the day that required average exceeds the most you can realistically deliver; past it, the quarter cannot mathematically recover. Targets: 215 total and 44 RN minutes per resident per day (Aged Care Rules 2025, s.176-20, AN-ACC casemix-adjusted per home). Funding at stake uses the supplement figure you entered; metro homes lose part of the supplement for missed quarters from April 2026, set two quarters after the reference quarter. Staffing is also a Star Ratings input, so a missed quarter can show publicly on My Aged Care.
Claims · NDIS

The 90-day wall

From 1 December 2026, NDIS claims must be lodged within 90 days of the support being delivered, down from two years. The NDIA can also ask you to substantiate any claim, with 14 business days to respond before it is not paid. Old claims stop being money you will eventually get around to, and start being money with an expiry date.

Your oldest claim hits the wall

How we worked this out
Claim age is counted from the service delivery date, not the invoice date. Your oldest unlodged claim expires 90 days after delivery once the 90-day lodgement limit starts on 1 December 2026. Your process margin is 90 minus (typical lodgement age plus one batch cycle): the buffer between how you claim today and the wall. If that margin is under about 20 days, a single NDIA substantiation request (14 business days to respond, or the claim is not paid) can push a normal claim over the edge. Rules: NDIS reforms legislated 2026; substantiation applies to any claim.
Restrictive practices · NDIS

Last safe lodgement

Every restrictive practice authorisation has an expiry date, and every state authoriser has a turnaround time. Work backwards and each authorisation has a last safe day to lodge the renewal. After expiry, every single use becomes a reportable incident, notified to the NDIS Commission within five business days, or 24 hours if it caused harm.

Lodge by these dates

ExpiresLast safe lodgementMargin
After expiry, every use is a reportable incident. Unauthorised restrictive practice: notify the NDIS Commission, then the monthly RP report carries it. The record enforcement year makes this the most expensive lapse in the scheme.
How we worked this out
Last safe lodgement is the expiry date minus your authoriser's turnaround. Margin is how many days you have left before that date. Amber under 14 days, red when the last safe day has passed. Behaviour support plans and authorisations run on separate cycles per state and territory under the NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules; this tool models the authorisation renewal only.

Take your projection with you

Save a one-page PDF of your inputs and where they land: the point of no return, the claims margin, the lodgement dates. Useful for the next quality meeting; sharper than "we think we are behind".

This is the kind of work we are looking to hand to agents: the same projection, against your live systems instead of six numbers typed into a page, with your people approving what happens next. If the projection made you sit forward, the 20-minute call is the next step.

Where You Land is a modelling aid based on published rules at July 2026: the 215/44 care minutes targets and the supplement reduction for metro homes from April 2026, the 90-day claim lodgement limit commencing 1 December 2026, the 14-business-day substantiation window, and state restrictive practice authorisation regimes. It is not legal, financial or compliance advice, and your funding contracts and state rules may vary. Calculations run in your browser; your inputs are not transmitted or stored.

Alain introduces himself and the program, and hears which problem you would rather share with peers than solve alone. No deck, no demo.
